PC Frontier is a small, growing collection of writing about the frontier of personal computing — the weird, the new, the lovingly hand-built. If that sounds like your kind of place, we'd love to hear from you.

What kind of posts?

Broad invitation. Anything that lives somewhere on the frontier of how people use, build, modify, or think about personal computers: hardware hacks, niche software, retro deep-dives, modern oddities, opinion pieces, tutorials, postmortems, field notes. If you're not sure it fits, write it anyway — let us be wrong about whether it belongs.

How it works

Every post lives as a markdown file in a public GitHub repository. Contributing means opening a pull request that adds your file. We'll review, chat in the PR if there's anything to discuss, and merge it in. Your post goes live the next time the site is deployed.

  1. Fork the repository on GitHub
  2. Add your post as a .md file under /posts/
  3. Open a pull request
  4. We chat in the PR comments if needed, then merge

Never used GitHub before?

No problem. Write your post in any plain-text editor and email it to contact@pcfrontier.com — we'll handle the rest.
